The Non-Resident Importer (NRI) program is designed to benefit U.S. companies by allowing them to sell to their Canadian clients on a landed cost basis, streamline the customs clearance process, and reduce paperwork.

NRI Responsibilities: 

• Responsible for the complete declaration of all shipments made in their name
• Pay for any applicable duties, taxes and brokerage fees
• Responsible for GST Registration and quarterly filing
• Maintain importing records for a period of six years plus the current year

Frisbi will make the process very simple and will walk you through the entire process.

Steps to Get Setup:

• Request Frisbi to file an application for you
• Sign a General Agency Agreement to allow UPS to act on your behalf at the Canadian Border
• Frisbi will let you know when your account is fully setup so you can get started with shipping to CA (Usually takes up to 10 Business days for implementation)
